Country music legend George Strait, fondly known as the “King of Country Music,” will be gracing the stage of Texas A&M University’s Kyle Field for a one-night-only concert on June 15th, 2024. This special event, dubbed “The King at Kyle Field,” marks Strait’s sole Texas performance for the entire year.
Strait, who retired from extensive touring after his “Cowboy Rides Away Tour” in 2014, has limited his appearances outside of his residency shows at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, known as “Strait to Vegas.” However, 2024 brings a return to the road for the King, with Kyle Field serving as a stop alongside a nine-city stadium tour co-headlined with Chris Stapleton. Their collaborative tour kicks off in Indianapolis on May 4th, taking Strait to other major cities like Chicago, Detroit, and Charlotte before culminating in Texas.
Throughout his illustrious career, Strait has solidified himself as a country music powerhouse. With a staggering total of over 105 million albums sold and a record-breaking 60 No. 1 singles to his name, Strait’s impact on the genre is undeniable. His contributions were further recognized through his induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2006.
