DFW Weather Forecast: Super Tuesday Sunshine Followed by Potential Severe Storms

DFW Weather Forecast

As the early hours of Tuesday unfolded, scattered storms made their presence known to the east of the Metroplex, driven by the northward push of a cold front. However, the outlook for the remainder of this pivotal Super Tuesday promises exceptionally favorable weather conditions. For those venturing to the polls today, anticipate predominantly sunny skies with temperatures soaring into the upper 70s and lower 80s. Tonight, the forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with overnight lows dipping into the mid-50s.

Wednesday’s weather forecast paints a picture of cloud domination, with limited sunshine throughout the day. Despite the cloud cover, dry conditions will prevail, and temperatures will peak in the upper 70s. As Wednesday transitions into Thursday, the weather narrative takes a turn towards potential instability. Late-day showers and thunderstorms loom on the horizon, signaling the onset of a looming threat of severe weather.

The First Alert Weather Team has issued a weather alert for Thursday, as a complex weather system traverses North Texas, heralding the arrival of scattered showers and thunderstorms. While a few showers may dampen the morning hours, the likelihood of scattered storms escalates significantly by Thursday afternoon and evening. Portions of North Texas have been placed under level 1 (marginal) and level 2 (slight) risks for severe storms. Anticipate the possibility of heavy rainfall, accompanied by gusty winds and potentially hail.

Thursday’s temperatures are forecasted to remain relatively cool, with highs hovering in the low 70s. The inclement weather is expected to persist into the initial hours of Friday, characterized by continued rain and thunderstorms. Otherwise, predominantly cloudy skies will dominate the landscape, with temperatures reaching the mid-70s. Come Friday into Saturday, a cold front will sweep through the region, ushering in cooler temperatures. Highs are projected to range from the upper 50s to near 60 degrees on Saturday, with a slight uptick to the mid-60s by Sunday.
